About Us

The Portage Rotary Club is one of 60 clubs in Rotary District 6360 of Southwest Michigan. Internatiolnally there are over 1.2 Million members in 31,000 clubs in 167 countries.

The Portage Rotary Club is a direct result of the efforts of Dr. Jack Wu and the Kalamazoo South Rotary Club.

Because of the growth of Kalamazoo South Rotary, a committee was formed to study the feasibility of organizing a Portage Rotary Club. This group's recommendation resulted in the official organization on February 23, 1967. This is coincidentally the anniversary of the first Rotary Club in Chicago in 1905.

Portage Rotary was chartered on March 20, 1967 and celebrated charter night on April 27th of that year.
